Concrete Mattings
Geosynthetic cementitious composite mats (GCCMs) or simply concrete mats are flexible and intensely durable engineered concrete contained between two or more layers of high strength geosynthetic materials. GCCM makes it doable to use concrete on slopes, in water, and in other challenging locations, without the need for forms or mixing and with minimal use of equipment.
This innovative “concrete on a roll” has been extensively used for many years as a successful solution for sealing against liquids and gases in a wide variety of applications. Concrete mats can be quickly cut and secured in place, making it ideal for new construction and rehabilitation of various water engineering structures including storage bins, ponds, dams, dykes and canals.
Concrete mattings also provide a permanent solution to soil erosion usually induced by water, weather and human activities. When installed properly, they can effectively protect riverbanks, dam embankments, channels, culverts, outlets, spillways and abutments. The uses of GCCM have already extended to different industries and applications, such as mining, road, rail, civil, petrochemical, and agriculture.
Our concrete mats, Voltite CM and Voltite CM Plus, are fabricated in a three-dimensional structure with layers of bentonite geotextile reinforcing the concrete – forming a water-tight and high strength material. The unique composition of bentonite allows our mats to withstand extreme temperatures and environment, maintain durability with increase and decrease in moisture, and preserve its waterproofing properties even after they have experienced mechanical damage.
